Summer Soccer is a soccer camp.

At soccer camp most kids speak Italian. Some kids speak English.

In the morning I play games of Soccer, after that we play some tournaments and eat some foccacia.

Foccacia is some salted bread.

I then play a bit on the playground.

One day a week we go swimming. We also play volley ball and basket ball.

Finally mum picks me up at 1 o'clock.

It is Fun!

Rome 30.08.11

I went to Rome with my Dad.

We took two trains from Lucca to Florence and from Florence to Rome.

When we got to Rome we went to a restaurant. We had a snack.

After, we went to meet some friends. We met them in front of Saint Peters Cathedral at the Vatican.

Vatican City has lots of big buildings that have lots of paintings and statues.

It is where the Pope lives.  I bought some Rosary Beads.

I liked Vatican City because it had lots of things there that had been dug up.

The next day I woke up and went to the Coloseum. It was where they used to have battles.

I liked the Coloseum because it was very old. Lots of the walls had fallen down.

We caught the train home with our friends.

It was very hot but it was fun.

Pinocchio Park - 16.08.11

Today I went to the Pinocchio Park in Collodi. This is the name of the man who wrote the book Pinoccchio.

We walked around the park. It is like an amusement park that tells a story.

My favourite part was the maze. I helped lead most people out.

There were lots of statues made out of metal that were the characters from Pinocchio's story around the park.

My favourite character was the whale. I liked the whale because we could go on top of the whale's head.

After, we went to the Butterfly House. Inside the Butterfly House it was hot and sweaty. We saw some Piranahas. They are tiny fish but they have very sharp teeth.

They could eat a large mammal in half an hour.

The butterfly house was in a garden with lots of fish. There were also lots of stairs.

Gardaland 25.07.11

Gardaland is a theme park.

We stayed at the Gardaland Hotel.

Gardaland has lots of rides.

My favourite ride was the jungle rapids. They spin and they are like bumper boats.

There is a track that you follow.  At the end people squirt us.

I wanted to bring my bathers because there were geysers that squirted up.

I liked the magic house, at the end of the ride it feels as if you are upside down, but it was only the roof turning.

I went on two rides that were boats that went straight down and I got very wet. I was scared but excited.

Venice 24.07.11

On the weekend I went to Venice.

There are water streets instead of roads.

They use Gondolas instead of cars.

There are lots of Bridges in Venice.  One famous bridge is the Rialto bridge.

We caught a boat to Venice.  The ride took half an hour.

St. Marks square was filled with pigeons.  There were hundreds.

There were lots of people and it was raining on the day we went.

Aqua Park 09.07.11

On Sunday we went to an Aqua Park in Cecina.

It took an hour to get there.

When I got there I saw two water slides, one was curvy and the other one went straight down.

I went in the childrens area with my brother.

Then I went on the water slide.

I was scared on the way up but when I got up to the top I was confident to go down.

My brother went down once on my dad's lap, I went down three times.

We had a great time.

Italy 10.07.11

Italy is shaped like a boot.

It is a country in Europe.

The type of money we use in Italy is called the Euro.

The flag is coloured red white and green.

In Italy they speak Italian.

Some words they use are "andiamo", that means lets go.

"Buonasera" means good evening and "Ciao", which means goodbye but it also could mean hello.

We are staying in Tuscany.

When it is night in Italy it is day time in Australia.

It is hot in Italy and Australia is cold.
