Lucca Streets 26.06.11

In Lucca, the  streets are very narrow because it is an old town.

The streets are made of cobblestones.

It sometimes takes an hour to get a park for the car.

The playgrounds are getting too little for me.

I want a bike but mum said it is too expensive, this weekend I am getting a scooter.

We can hire a bike somtimes to ride around the city walls (I am doing this today).

The transport is mainly bikes and people walking.

You have to drive very slowly.

Guinigi Tower 19.06.11

The Tower Guinigi was built by the Guinigi family.

It has 222 steps to the top. I counted them all.

There are trees on top of the tower.

We could see lots from the top.

I could see the whole city of Lucca and we took some photos.

It was amazing!

I got tired climbing all the stairs.

The City Wall's 12.06.11

The city wall's protected everyone inside.

Enemies tried to get in.

The wall was flat so they could not get in.

They have giant locks on the doors.

Inside of the wall's there are lots of dungeons and secret tunnels.

Now it is used for walking on and for bikes.

There are also playgrounds on top of the wall.

Dad's Birthday 05.06.11

On the weekend it was Dad's birthday.

We had Dad's cake in the morning because it was not a cake.

It was a stack of pancakes, we put candles on top.

We went through the windy hills to someones house.

We had lunch at his house. We had a swim too and I made a friend called Sara.

We went to someone elses house for dinner.

They made Dad a cake, it was chocolate and profriteroles.

It was awesome!

Leaning Tower of Pisa - 02.06.11

Today I saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

It started leaning in 1173 after it was built.

It was very tall and it has arched doors.

I saw lots of people on the tower.

The towers colour is grey and white.

We had photos in front of the tower.

It was amazing!
